About Me

I live and work from my family's ranch in Eastern Wyoming as a freelance writer, and photographer. I primarily write for regional and national agriculture affiliated publications, including Tri-State Livestock News, Hereford America, The Fence Post and BEEF Magazine. When I'm not writing or taking pictures somewhere, I can be found feeding, riding, fencing and doing whatever else needs accomplished on the ranch, typically with my camera on my shoulder and my two little dogs underfoot.
I have a passion for agriculture and feel it's important to provide accurate information about ranching, farming, and all the other aspects of our industry. This blog covers day to day activities on the ranch, and tells the story of agriculture from the angle of someone who lives it. You will also see and hear about my photography work, adventures traveling, and my opinion on any number of topics. More than anything, you will see what really goes into raising the world's safest food supply.
My life is balanced by my amazing family and friends. I believe in God, and my relationship with him is very important to me. I love a great latte every morning, shopping for clothes and furniture, traveling, fishing, red dirt music and reading a good book.
Out of everything I do, and have done, raising cattle is still my favorite. There is something about the challenge of making them better each year, and the unique set of challenges faced in agriculture that keeps it exciting. Then there's watching your livestock improve annually, and the reward of seeing them advance in ways you've specifically worked at.
It's a fast paced life full of fun and exciting things, and I appreciate you stopping by to read about it. If you have any questions after reading a post, or in genearl, please email me at doublehphoto@live.com, and I'll do my best to answer them!
